Veterans Village Phase 1 (Pro Bono)

Summary

ColeBreit Engineering provided 100% pro bono mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering services for Phase I of Veterans Village in Bend, Oregon. Developed by Central Oregon Veterans Outreach, the $1.2 million project created a village-style transitional shelter community consisting of 15 small shelters and shared support infrastructure for veterans experiencing homelessness.
MEP services focused on foundational infrastructure planning, including coordination of site utilities and building systems typical of small-scale residential structures. Utility distribution, electrical service, plumbing connections, and heating systems were designed to support efficient installation and long-term durability within a modest construction budget.
Coordination across stakeholders ensured systems aligned with phased development and site constraints while maintaining code compliance and reliability. The completed village provides safe, functional shelter supported by coordinated MEP infrastructure that serves a mission-driven community need.
