Business Development Manager

Salary: $100,000-$120,000 Annually
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Business Development Manager is responsible for pursuing and winning new projects that align with the company's core focus, as well as upselling additional services to clients. The Business Development Manager will collaborate with the Principal team to set and achieve revenue targets, conduct market analysis to identify opportunities and risks, and analyze marketing metrics to measure performance. Additionally, the Business Development Manager develops and implements a client outreach plan and works with Marketing to create brand collateral to ensure effective communication of the company's value proposition.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES ​
New Business

Pursue project work that falls under the core focus of the company. This includes identifying opportunities, conducting market research, and strategically positioning the company to win new projects.
Additional Services

Work to upsell services on new projects by understanding clients' needs and offering additional solutions that add value to their projects
Revenue Targets

Collaborate with the Principal team to set revenue goals based on annual target revenue. Monitor progress towards these goals and take proactive measures to achieve or exceed them.
Market Analysis

Research market sectors that have been identified as priorities for increasing market share. Research market sectors that have been identified as possible areas for expansion. Conduct thorough market analysis to identify and develop strategies to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate risks.
Marketing Metrics

Analyze hit rate and track Marketing scorecard metrics.
Client Outreach

Develop and implement a focused plan involving the Marketing team and Principals for client outreach. This includes defining target markets, setting outreach goals, and allocating budget resources effectively. Identify appropriate trade shows, conferences, industry events for OPS/Principal’s team consideration and review. Manage and track purposeful connections with clients to nurture relationships and drive business growth.
Brand Collateral

Collaborate with the Marketing team to create client outreach collateral, including presentations, proposals, and marketing materials. Participate in quality control of all collateral to ensure materials are aligned with the company's brand and messaging strategy, and effectively communicates the value proposition to clients.​

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing this job, the employee regularly works in the office they are assigned to, Monday-Friday, typically 8am-5pm. Hybrid work options may be available.
TRAVEL
This position requires travel to meet with clients within our target markets in Oregon and California and to attend industry events.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering or related field.

Minimum (3) years of experience in Business Development within the AEC industry.

Proven track record of success in business development, with a focus on achieving revenue targets and driving growth.

Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize in a changing environment.

Must be organized, flexible, independent, and self-motivated, enthusiastic, dependable, detail oriented.

Ability to foster a collaborative work environment and lead team efforts by promoting cooperation, commitment, and accountability in line with the company's mission, vision, and values.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with clients at all levels.

Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute effective business development strategies.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.

Ability to travel as needed.
