Mercy Greenbrae Apartments
Summary
Marylhurst Commons, also known as Mercy Greenbrae Apartments, is a 100-unit affordable housing development located on the former Marylhurst University campus in Oregon. Developed by Mercy Housing Northwest, the project delivered workforce and family housing for residents earning below 60% of Area Median Income.
The three- and four-story building is organized around a landscaped central courtyard and includes community-focused amenities such as a flexible community room, kitchen, resident services spaces, and shared indoor and outdoor gathering areas.
ColeBreit Engineering served as the mechanical and plumbing engineer under a design-assist delivery model, developing systems to support a high-performance, all-electric building. Designed to meet Passive House Institute US (PHIUS) certification standards, the project prioritizes energy efficiency, resilience, and indoor air quality.
