"The Center" - Orthopedic and Neurosurgical Care and Research, NWX Building #7

Summary

ColeBreit Engineering provided mechanical and plumbing engineering services for Orthopedic and Neurosurgical Care and Research (“The Center”), a 7,300-square-foot specialty medical and research tenant in Bend’s NWX district. The clinic required detailed HVAC and plumbing systems to support exam rooms, procedure spaces, imaging areas - including X-ray - IT rooms, and staff support spaces.
Mechanical systems were designed to meet stringent air-change, filtration, and outside-air requirements, including dedicated systems for procedure and imaging rooms with enhanced filtration and allowances for humidification. Plumbing infrastructure included domestic water, waste and vent, gas piping, specialty sinks, cast room drainage with catch basin, and coordination of medical-grade fixtures.
Working with BCA Architects and the project team, systems were integrated within an existing shell to meet clinical performance standards while maintaining constructability. The completed facility supports specialty healthcare and research functions through carefully coordinated MEP design.
