UofO Lylle Reynolds-Parker Black Cultural Center

Summary

ColeBreit Engineering provided full mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering services for the 3,200-square-foot Lylle Reynolds-Parker Black Cultural Center at Oregon State University in Eugene, Oregon. Delivered in collaboration with Architecture Building Culture (ABC), Andersen Construction, and OS (electrical engineering partner), the $3.0 million project created a dedicated cultural and community space recognized with a 2021 AIA Award.
Within a compact footprint, building systems were designed to support flexible gathering areas, offices, and student programming while aligning with UofO campus standards. MEP infrastructure was carefully coordinated to maintain comfort, indoor air quality, and adaptability without compromising architectural intent. Integration of systems within tight spatial constraints required detailed coordination across disciplines to ensure constructability and long-term performance.
The completed facility delivers reliable, maintainable systems that support community engagement and evolving program needs within a highly visible campus environment.
